Renault Clio Sport 197 2007 59,000 miles

PRICED LOWER FOR QUICK SALE... My 2007 Renault Clio 197 in Nimbus Grey. Cambelt and Waterpump done: 11/09/2019. No knocks from ball joints and swivels.

Next MOT 9 September 2020. Just under 59,000 miles. I have owned this car since February 2020 and enjoyed every minute. I thought I would start by listing what I have had replaced/added in the last 5 months. Genuine rear quarter glass seals.

Full powder coat of alloys in Sepang Bronze (less than 10 miles driven). Full respray of callipers in Brembo red (less than 10 miles driven) - Got new Brembo stickers to put on will be included in the sale. Bullets and door mirrors resprayed in Sepang Bronze (less than 10 miles driven).

Carbon Fibre effect vinyl wrap of door mouldings. Carbon Fibre effect door handle covers. Carbon Fibre effect from and rear emblem covers. Carbon Fibre effect short aerial.

New Bosch wiper blades F/R. Genuine RS steering wheel insert. Refurbished steering wheel by Royals with matching gearstick gaiter in Nappa leather. Genuine interior rear view mirror. Genuine climate heater control unit. Genuine centre console radio surround and trims.

Genuine RS leather gear knob. Genuine immaculate RS200 leather seats (only had 10,000 of bum time). Genuine RS cup dampers (x4). Genuine RS front top mounts.

Grams Sport springs (-30mm) (less than 10 miles driven). Pure Motorsport spacers (20mm) (less than 10 miles driven). Genuine outer track rod ends. Genuine second hand steering rack. New Track Focus Direct Bush.

Powerflex gearbox mount/torque arm/dog bone mounts. New Brembo pads front and rear with new brake fluid (less than 10 miles driven). New Scorpion Cat-back Non-res exhaust (less than 10 miles driven). New 4x Goodyear F1 tyres 225/17/45 (less than 100 miles driven). Larger O-ring and sealant on MAF sensor. Service just done including a complete drain and fill of engine oil (ELF Evolution, 900 SXR 5w-40). New drain and fill of gearbox oil (CASTROL SYNTRANS 75W-90) and lubrication of transmission cables. Very clean example with near immaculate interior (just need to change pedal covers, which I have which will come with sale). Exterior benefitted from a machine polish not too long ago, there are a few age related marks but as should be expected. I believe it to be one of the better kept 197s. Wheels have just been powder coated, along with painted callipers, door mirrors and bullets less than 10 miles ago, along with new springs, spacers and new Scorpion cat-back exhaust. Car pulls very well and starts on the button.

Not quite as good bits. Nevertheless I have made up for this in spades and the important bits have been done. The front tyres do rub on full lock under load on tight cornering, it doesnt affect performance and is not noticeable unless you are hammering it, I would have thought that going back to 215 tyres or pulling the liners back a bit more will sort this out.

When manoeuvring the car under 3mph you do feel the odd small movement in the wheel around the 9 and 3 positions. I have narrowed it down to it likely just being a loose component somewhere or the column UJ needs to be overtightened. There is nothing wrong with the rack or swivels/lower arm ball joints etc. You do not feel this over bumps or driving the car. Since changing the exhaust there does seem to be the 2500rpm flatspot I would probably get it remapped if I were keeping the car!
