Renault Sport Clio 172 Cup

Relisted, pressure to sell is greater than anticipated....... As you no doubt know, this is the driver focused version of the cult hot hatch. Produced in smaller numbers, the cup was light weight and bereft of any modern driver aids. I've owed this for around two years, used as a fun 2nd / 3rd vehicle. Mileage is I guess low / average for one of these at 112k.

I've plenty of recent history, including cambelt / dephaser change in March 2015. The clutch was also done around this time with the previous owner. I keep a full record of the works I've had done. I brought the car from an enthusiast, but stupidity I don't have the original advert so mods etc are from memory. Please do come and see the car, mechanical it's 100%, with a full recent service and work done.

It's always started first time and goes like the clappers. I've kept it well maintained and any work needed gets done. I've only done around 6000 miles since I've had it.

This car comes with Air conditioning, not a standard feature, but an option on the Cup version. Work in my ownership: May 2019 - Service, replaced n/s headlight, exhaust mount fitted & MOT until June 2020 June 2018 - Two new Toyo Proxes fitted June 2017 - Service, new rear brakes Inc a caliper and sensor valve.

Changed to brembo 5.1 fluid. Known Modifications: OMP Steering wheel - Increases the Go Kart feel and fun factor. Ram Air Induction Kit - Sounds great. Rear wheel camber modification - I understand this reduces wheel lift on cornering? Aftermarket Alpine head unit with hands free via blu-tooth.

Possible Modifications: Rentec High Octane Remap - I'm sure there was a graph when I brought this! My understanding is that it's mapped up to 180bhp and needs to run on super unleaded fuels. I've certainly always used premium fuel and there's no pronounced'kick at 4000rpm which suggests this is in place Uprated suspension - Looks aftermarket, but car not particularly low. Engine mounts uprated with performance parts Looks like Yellow Stuff brake pads on the front. Bad Bits: Bodywork - No dents but there's a few minor dings and car park scraps. Certainly cleans up well, but don't expect anything other than 16 year old paint. Wheels - Original, but need a refurb. There's 5 of them with lots of tyre left on them.

Drivers seat release broken, so rear accessed via passenger side Minor wear on drivers seat - see photo. From the last service there's some slight misting of oil from the front shocks.

Not even noted on the MOT, but as my service details are meticulous it needs a mention. Otherwise this is pretty much standard looking, solid Clio cup. Reason for sale is I've moved house so less room for cars and with another baby on the way, this extra toy should really move on. I'm in no particular rush to sell, so don't bother with low ball offers. If this doesn't sell I'll find somewhere to store it as these are going up in value.
